Trip Details:
- The Windmill E-bike tour is suitable for people 12 years and older. A good level of fitness, health and biking skill is necessary.
- This guided bike tour is 40 km / 25 miles long and lasts 5.5 hours.
- Group size: maximum of 15 people in one group.
- Lunch: feel free to pack a lunch and bring a snack and drink along for the route or out at the Zaanse Schans cheese farm because while the farmer has cheese to eat the wooden shoes are not fun to nibble on unless you are a chipmunk. The best is to wear a backpack on the bicycle.
- We will provide a nice e-bike with handbrakes, 8 gears and raingear if necessary. Helmets are not required for this tour, but we have them available.
- Time: The tour starts seven days per week at 10.30 am. Make sure to be 10 to 15 minutes in advance at the meeting point. We don’t wait longer than 5 minutes for guests being late.

This tour is best suited to riders who are comfortable cycling for extended periods and have basic bike handling skills. You will be riding an e-bike with pedal assist, but a moderate level of fitness is helpful for the distance and varied terrain.
Will the tour run if the weather is bad?
Yes. We cycle in most weather conditions. The Netherlands is known for changeable weather, so we suggest wearing layers and bringing waterproof clothing. Light rain seldom stops the tour, and rain jackets are available if needed.
How do cancellations work for this tour?
Standard bookings can be cancelled up to 24 hours before departure for a refund. If you add trip protection when booking, you can cancel up until the time the tour begins. Full details are shown at checkout on the booking page.
How should I prepare for Dutch weather?
Dress in layers that you can add or remove as the temperature changes. A waterproof jacket or poncho is useful, even if the forecast looks dry. Comfortable shoes and sun protection are recommended in warmer months.

Before departure we provide a thorough safety briefing and check that every rider is confident on their e-bike. Helmets are available at no extra cost and we strongly recommend everyone wears one. Guides maintain a safe pace and watch for traffic on shared paths.
Is this tour suitable for children?
Riders must be at least 12 years old and able to ride a bike independently. There is a minimum height requirement of 140 centimetres, about 4 feet 7 inches. The route and pace are better suited to teens and adults.
Where does this tour start and what should I bring?
The tour departs from our meeting point near Amsterdam Central Station. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and bike fitting. Bring water, a light snack, sun protection, and layered clothing suited to the day’s forecast.
