Hidden gems, Alternative Bike Tour Amsterdam

Discover our favorite hidden gems in Amsterdam with a local guide on our bike tour. Explore the road less traveled and see Amsterdam?s street art, canals, and architecture ? both old and new. Amsterdam is known for its biking culture and alternative art scene. This half-day bike tour is a great way to experience all this in a fun group setting.

This bike tour will start nearby Leidseplein and Vondelpark. After getting a quality bike we will pedal into the famous Western part of the city with the hipster 19th century neighborhood. We will also go into the Jordaan, the old working-class area.

During the tour, we will pass beautiful canal houses, drawbridges, street-art, old industrial zones and ship docks. The true hidden gems of the city. We will also take a ferry to see some of the hip places of the up-and-coming Amsterdam North. We will see lost cranes and industrial buildings at NDSM. This area is also famous for its amazing street art and graffiti.

You’ll learn about Amsterdam’s rich history as well as the foibles that make up Amsterdam’s culture. We mix this with the personal stories, observations, and opinions of your local guide. We can decide with the group to have a little stop to have drinks while we are in the NDSM area, there are several cool bars in this area.

All our guides are personable, knowledgeable, and fun. We always have your safety in mind, so you can enjoy your bike ride responsibly.

Please note that to join this tour, one must be 12 years or older!

Easy to rent – hour bike rental
We had stayed at the Holiday Inn Express nearby. Mikes’s Bikes Was in easy walking distance. We had no reaservation but they were able to accomodate us ( 4 People).

The person who processed our rental was quick to get us going, humorous and helpful with suggestions fo where to go.

The bikes were in good shape and came with bike locks.

I screwed up!
I accidentally nooked a morning tour thinking it was for the afternoon. It was due at 9:30am….bit of a problem as most of the people going were still in bed. One mad panicked call later, we were all sorted. They were very helpful, funny and provided a private countryside tour with the fanulous Wendolyn (not sure if i spelt that right). He’s a historian with a passion for sharing knowledge. We all loved the 4 hour tour, best apple pie and beer ever and he got us all back in one piece.
Highly recommended!
